Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television presenter in the US and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals straightforward, simple techniques to master to cook at home in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell also has worked in several of the city's most prestigious establishments, been studying Italian food, its culture and traditions, and was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food from a young age. After obtaining an English and Communication diploma from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the business of restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America is where I spent the most fun time of my life. I could not study or accomplish enough. When I graduated from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners Chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star in Tuscany. While in Italy she grew to truly be aware of the philosophies behind Italian culinary and cultural traditions that left a lasting impact in her point of view. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to increase living conditions for kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of children's diabetes. She is a frequent guest to speak at conferences and tours the country in her mentorship job. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has always said I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share my true passion in life with others.
