Paula Faris is an American journalist
who formerly worked as the TV correspondent for ABC News. She is best known for
her role as co-host of Good Morning America Weekend, from 2014 to 2018, and
host of The View, 2015-2018. The show was co-hosted by her prior co-anchors
America This Morning and World News Now. After graduating, she worked in
several communications-related jobs including an operations position at
Mills/James Productions in Columbus, Ohio. Due to limited TV opportunities she
was employed in radio sales. Then she was able to work for one year as a
production assistant for WKEF/WRGT. Later, she would occasionally report and
anchor. She was the weekend and weekday sports anchors at WCPO TV, Cincinnati,
from 2002 until 2005. The contract was ended and she became a reporter and
anchor for NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV, Chicago, from November 2005 until December
2011. She was recruited by ABC News the news division in December 2011. The 2nd
of January, 2012, she debuted on the network's World News Now and America This
Morning. She was also on Good Morning America's fill-in programme, Good Morning
America, beginning on January 2, 2012. In the following years she was promoted
to New York-based correspondent for every ABC News programs. The program was
not able for her to finish the final episode of World News Now or America This
Morning. The show aired on January 22nd in 2013. She made her debut on Good
Morning America Weekend as co-anchor, September 9, 2014. This was following
Bianna Golodryga moved to Yahoo! News. On the 25th of August, 2015 ABC
announced that she would join The View as a co-host for season 19. On August 3
on the 3rd of August, 2016 it was announced they renewed her contract until the
end of its 20th season. Season 21 was also renewed along with co-hosting
duties. In the 21st and 22nd seasons she was mostly on the show's Friday shows.
